This sale is for 4 Steelcase chairs stamped with Metal Office Furniture Company. Great stuff for that industrial STEAMPUNK look, and made in the USA. You will not find chairs this well made or so unique anywhere else!!! In 1954 The Metal Office Furniture Company changed its name to Steelcase, and has been around since 1912, in Grand Rapids Michigan. please see the history of The Metal Office Furniture Company on the internet. it is a very interesting piece of history. I am waiting to hear back from steelcase as to the actual production date of these very chairs! they were created between 1912 and 1954. given the horsehair and sturdy springs in the cushions I believe they are dated well before the 1950's!! how awesome is that?. These were taken apart, and repainted by the previous owner, and found with the upholstery pads removed for recovering. They are filled with coil springs and cotton AND HORSEHAIR FILLING IN THE CUSHIONS. These are strong STURDY chairs. Each chair has a rubber guard on back of seat AT THE TOP. TheSE WERE sandblasted and repainted an industrial grey. They need to be reupholstered which can be done by customer request and prepaid order for a small additional cost and customer order specs for fabric and color. message me to discuss this option.
